We conduct a week-long induction programme for our first-year students to acquaint them with the new environment of SIHS. During the induction programme, we familiarise the students with the programme overview, including programme objectives, course structure, specializations, and career opportunities in the Nutrition and Dietetics programme domains. Ice-breaking sessions, guest lectures, and interactions with academic industry experts are organized for the students. Also, during induction week, teaching and non-teaching staff members are introduced to the students and are enlightened on rules and regulations, student support services such as campus medical and health care facilities, support counselling, recreational and wellness facilities and various campus committees. A campus tour is organized for all first-year students, and a special session on gender equality is provided. Students interact with fellow students and get opportunities to acquaint themselves with the new environment and peers.

2. Teaching Pedagogy:

The teaching-learning process aims at our students' holistic growth and development through academic orientation, leadership and soft skills development to prepare them industry-ready with global competencies. The Nutrition and Dietetics programme faculty members use innovative pedagogies to ensure a seamless teaching-learning process. These include lectures, hands-on practicals at laboratories of the specialized centres, demonstrations, case studies, field visits to different research centres, factories, government and non-government organizations, and experiential learning opportunities in professional settings: journal clubs, group discussions and interactive sessions.
