1. When does registration for M.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics at SIHS starts?
Answer:The registration for M.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics at SIHS starts in the month of March annually.
2.What is the last date for registration?
Answer:The registration closes in the month of May annually.
3.What is the eligibility criteria to apply for M.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics programme?
Answer:Graduate in Life Sciences / Home Sciences / Health Sciences and any other Biological sciences from any recognized University/ Institution of National Importance with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% marks or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribes).
4.Can a student studying in final year of graduation apply for the programme?
Answer:Yes, you can apply for the programme.
5.A candidate scoring less than 50% in graduation can apply?
Answer:No, refer point no.3
6.Is the past academic record also considered in the selection of a candidate?
Answer:Yes, there is a 20% weightage for the past academic record of the candidate in the selection process. during the selection process which has weightage given to past academic performances.

8.How is M.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics at SIHS different from other M.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics programs offered in India?
Answer: The programme offers innovative career-oriented specializations such as Public Health Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, Food Safety and Quality Management and Nutrigenomics. These specializations provide focused and tailored courses in specific areas to equip and skill the students in the respective domains through academic and research-based education to enhance their career prospects. After completion of the programme the students are industry ready to take potential job offers in various sectors of Nutrition & Dietetics. Additionally, our programme provides hands-on practical training, experiential learning opportunities, research skill development, field training and internship opportunities.
9.Is there placement assistance?
Answer:Yes, SIHS has a dedicated placement & training cell aimed at enhancing employability and employment.
10.What facilities are provided?
Answer:The facilities available at SIHS include: Virtual Library Facility, Wi-Fi campus, a dedicated and on campus health care center, State of art Recreation & Wellness Centre, Hostel ,Food court, Bank & ATM.
11.What kind of opportunities exist in the Nutrition and Dietetics Industry in India after I complete this programme?
Answer:Nutrition and Dietetics professionals are needed in settings such as Food Industry, Hospitals, Clinics, Nutrigenomic labs, NGOs, Governmental agencies, National and International development agencies, Academics & Research. Apart from these, there are ample entrepreneurial opportunities for students after completion of M.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics.
12.What does the curriculum cover?
Answer:The curriculum covers specialised courses on the respective specializations. For example: Public health nutrition will include maternal and child nutrition, global nutrition; Nutrigenomics - precision medicine genetics; Clinical nutrition and dietetics- nutrition therapy in critical care, food service management and entreprenuership and Food Safety and Quality Management- Food legislations and policies and Food processing but not limited to these mentioned courses. Semester IV exclusively provides opportunities for internship and dissertation
13.What kind of Jobs can be taken up after completing this programme?

14.What options are available for furthering academic interests?

Answer:You can enroll for PhD in Nutrition and Dietetics at SIU for the doctoral studies. Opportuntiies for training to be a registered dietitians, and additional certifications for becoming food industry experts via empanelled partners of FSSAI.

16.What kind of questions are asked in the Personal interaction?

Answer: Questions are asked on generic topics as well as to test your knowledge on present nutrition and dietetics related courses. Refer point 18..

17.Is Group Discussion part of the selection process?

Answer:As per the selection process parameters, group discussion is eliminated; instead only a personal interaction is conducted.

18.What are the topics for Personal Interaction?

Answer:The topics include but not limited to Physiology, Biochemistry, Food Science, Nutrition, Dietetics, Community Nutrition and other allied Life-sciences courses.

19.How are the placements at SIHS?

Answer:There are potential recruiters for placements and we encourage students to use the available opportunities. In the last year, we have more rigorous placements organized by our potential recruiters.

20.How is WAT carried out?

Answer: As per the selection process parameters, only a personal interaction is conducted.

21.What kind of Jobs can be taken up after completing this programme?

Answer:Yes during PI, such questions are asked by the panellists.
